We are currently looking for a skilled, motivated Refrigeration Technician to join our team, take ownership of field service calls, and grow with us.
Pay Rate:$35.00 – $50.00 per hour (DOE) + Overtime, On-Call Pay & Bonuses
Position OverviewAs a Journeyman Refrigeration Service Technician, you will handle field diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, and installations exclusively on commercial and light industrial refrigeration systems. You will also assist with smaller project overviews, job scoping/quoting, and mentoring apprentice-level technicians when needed.
Primary ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-ins, ice machines, supermarket rack systems, and commercial cold storage equipment.
Perform mechanical and electrical diagnostics, refrigerant recovery, evacuation, leak testing, brazing, and component replacements (compressors, TXVs, fan motors, electronic controls).
Respond promptly to scheduled maintenance tasks, emergency breakdowns, and install calls across the Northern Nevada service territory.
Assist with quoting small repair jobs and providing technical guidance to newer technicians.
Maintain clean job-site documentation, digital work orders via company iPad, and accurate van inventory.
Standard Shift: Monday – Friday, typical start time 7:00 AM (occasional early mornings or evenings depending on job demands).
On-Call:
Rotating on-call schedule for after-hours and weekend emergency calls.
Experience:
2–3+ years of hands-on commercial refrigeration service experience.Certifications:
EPA Universal Card and OSHA 10 (or ability to obtain prior to start).Driver’s License:
Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record.Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC/R technical trade school certificate strongly preferred.Professional Traits:
Reliable, mechanically proficient, strong troubleshooting skills, and able to work independently in a 24/7 service environment.
$35.00 – $50.00/hour with weekly direct deposit.
