Warehouse Team Lead – Full Time –

The Team Lead has general responsibility for coordinating and overseeing all operational activities assigned to the warehouse team. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Lead is responsible for the oversight of associates in receiving, shipping, and general warehouse processes to meet company service and cost objectives.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTraining Responsibilities
- Mentor and train new and existing associates in specific distribution activities to meet customer demands.
- Train associates on current Standard Operating Procedures, including shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control.
- Assist with forklift operation and certification for associates.
Shipping / Receiving Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking, picking, and staging of outbound shipments.
- Verify required paperwork with drivers and ensure products are properly counted.
- Load orders efficiently and accurately onto appropriate doors and trailers.
- Process all shipping/receiving/picking functions per Standard Operating Procedures.
- Research discrepancies in shipping and receiving processes.
Customer Service
- Maintain a professional appearance and communication style.
- Communicate with customers via telephone, email, or in person.
- Prepare activity reports for site management.
Quality Control Responsibilities
- Use appropriate documentation to ensure orders are correctly received, shipped, and picked.
- Verify products meet quality standards and report damages or discrepancies.
- Package, shrink‑wrap, and label product as required.
- Process quality control functions per SOP and report issues to the supervisor.
- Participate in quality meetings.
Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance
- Comply with ISO standards and maintain safety protocols.
- Promote safety in all job tasks.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and security.
- Participate in safety meetings.
Labor Management
- Direct warehouse team to meet objectives.
- Assist associates with productivity sheets and payroll capture.
- Help maintain appropriate staffing levels.
- Assist in scheduling and job assignment.
Equipment Operation
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, sweeper scrubbers, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, Aisle Master, or pallet jack as needed.
- Maintain equipment and report problems.
- Perform daily maintenance and maintain active forklift certification.
Maintenance
- Assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
Other Duties
- Handle clerical tasks guided by site management (telephones, scheduling, record‑keeping).
- Work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

MinimumRequired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 year of experience in logistics, distribution, or a related environment.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment.
- Capacity to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures (mild to moderate).
- Completion of a forklift training program.
Computer Skills
- Basic computer skills.
- Use of RF scanners and WMS functions.
Language Skills
- English reading, writing, verbal.
Mathematical Skills
- Basic to intermediate verification of quantities and inventory.
Other
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication with all levels.
- Adaptability to change in a fast‑paced environment.
- 2–4 years experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
- 2–4 years proven forklift experience.
- Current or prior MHE certification.
The expected base pay range is $28.00 – $28.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined by relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
