The Accounting Manager provides responsible management and hands‑on activity transaction application of the assigned areas, which includes oversight of accounts payable, and the accounting for the management New Wave. This position requires an individual that is able to exercise a high degree of thoughtful judgment and discretion in performing the job duties. Responsibilities:
Coordination of monthly close process for assigned areas. Ensures accurate and timely recording of operating expenses. Interfaces with other departments to ensure appropriate information flow. Reviews financials of management companies for reasonableness and accuracy. Manages reconciliation of all assigned balance sheet accounts for accuracy, and adherence to guidelines.
Desired experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related fields.
Hands‑on Management and application of all daily transaction to ensure activities are completed in an accurate and timely manner with strict adherence to company’s policies and procedures and compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines. Establishes, coordinates and sets priorities for the department; meets with staff to identify and resolve problems; assigns work activities and projects; monitors workflow. Evaluates work methods and procedures to ensure effectiveness.
Implements new or revised processes including departmental policies and procedures. Selects, motivates, and evaluates personnel; provides and coordinates staff training; works with employees to correct deficiencies; implements discipline and termination procedures.
Develops and manages department’s budget; monitors expenditures to ensure budget adherence. Coordinates the preparation, and submission of reports and payments required by federal, state and local agencies. Provides analysis and completes projects as requested by management. Performs other duties as required by position.
Five years of increasingly responsible experience in accounting including two years of supervisory responsibilities; or any equivalent experience and training, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Prior exposure to accounts payable operations a plus. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and related guidance. Competent user of Microsoft Office specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Access. Strong proficiency with MS Project application.
