The Veterans Initiatives Office is seeking to hire a Veteran Student Worker to support in-person and virtually, the Hildebrand Veterans Lounge at the Dorsey Academic Center in Elkridge, MD. The position is part-time, not to exceed 19 hours per week and pays $15 per hour.
SPECIFICRESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Serve as a receptionist for the Hildebrand Student Veterans Lounge located at the Dorsey Station regional location. Hours are 5 pm - 8pm when classes are in session.
- Virtually host Workshop Wednesday series via Zoom
- Participate in virtual and on-site events hosted by Veterans Initiatives Office
- Advise students of the available programs and resources
- Provide assistance with general inquiries regarding veterans benefits
- Process SALUTE Honor Society applications
- Serve on the Board of the UMGC Chapter of Student Veterans of America
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Applicants must be students currently pursuing education at UMGC and qualify as training ¾ time or greater.
- Must have served in the United States Military and/or are using Veterans Benefits OR
- Be the spouse of an active duty or veteran service member using veterans education benefits
