Assistant Preschool Teacher

Tarbiyah Academy is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and mission-aligned Preschool Assistant Teacher to support a developmentally rich early childhood program within a holistic Islamic educational framework.

As a Preschool Assistant Teacher, you will work closely with the Lead Preschool Teacher to create and sustain a classroom environment that is warm, safe, and joyful. You will play an essential role in nurturing the growth of our youngest learners—supporting instruction, fostering relationships, and embodying the values of Tarbiyah Academy in every interaction.

The Preschool Assistant Teacher is expected to:

• Support the Lead Teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences
• Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce skills and provide targeted support
• Assist in preparing materials, learning centers, and classroom environments
• Support children during transitions, routines, meals, and outdoor play
• Observe and document student behavior and learning to inform instruction
• Help maintain a structured, safe, and engaging classroom environment aligned with school expectations

• Support children's social-emotional growth, self-regulation, and early character development
• Respond to children with patience, warmth, and consistency
• Implement positive guidance strategies in partnership with the Lead Teacher
• Foster a sense of belonging, dignity, and security for every child

• Greet families warmly and maintain respectful, professional communication
• Support the Lead Teacher in sharing student progress and relevant updates with families

• Participate actively in team planning, professional learning, and school events
• Seek continuous growth in early childhood practice and Islamic educational values
• Participate in school events, field trips, and co-curricular responsibilities

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (or related field) from an accredited U.S. university
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Strong command of English

Preferred:

• State certification in Early Childhood Education
• Experience working with preschool-age children
• Experience in independent or Islamic school settings
