Technical Editor And Writer

A high performing engineering team is seeking an
* Engineering Writer
* to support the development of technical publications for complex electronic sensor and system technologies. This role operates within an
* Integrated Product Team (IPT)
* environment and requires strong analytical writing skills, collaboration, and the ability to convert technical information into clear, structured documentation aligned with military standards.

• Develop, revise, and edit technical publications for operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic sensor and system components.
• Research, interpret, and compile information from engineering sources, contractual material, and system documentation.
• Produce technical publications in multiple formats, including page-based, structured HTML, XML, and SGML.
• Ensure all documentation complies with applicable military specifications and standards.
• Collaborate with task leads, engineers, writers, and instructional staff to create accurate, user-focused materials.
• Conduct quality reviews to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across publications.
• Support additional tasks and documentation needs as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or a minimum of
  * 7 years of hands‑on experience
  * with operations and maintenance of radar, electro-optical, communications, networked, or sensor-based systems.
• Active U.S. citizenship.
• Active
  * DoD Secret Clearance
  * with ability to maintain it.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in varying environmental conditions.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically or internationally if program needs require it.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and within a team.

• Over
  * 10 years of engineering writing experience*.
• Willingness to obtain higher‑level security clearance if needed.
• Experience as a multidisciplinary or certified military instructor.

This is a Contract position based out of Elkridge, MD.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr.
