Engineering Technical Writer Security Clearance

Overview

Seeking an individual to join our high-performing team in an Engineering Writer position. Successful candidates will be able to fulfill engineering writing requirements for electronic systems, sensors, and radar systems in Elkridge, MD.

• Work in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure in fulfilling the assigned role.
• As an engineering writer, write, rewrite and/or edit technical publications covering operation and maintenance for sensors/systems.
• Research and compile information from contractual and engineering sources and develop technical publications that adhere to military specifications and standards.
• Publish technical publications including hardware description, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting and repair, and parts information for a wide range of audiences.
• Collaborate with task leads, writers, engineers, and instructors to develop and deliver sensor/system technical publications to varying levels of detail.
• Conduct quality review of technical publications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline or related field, or a minimum of 7 years’ experience in military operations and maintenance with radar, communications, electro-optics, networks and information technology-based sensors/systems.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Possess and maintain DoD Secret clearance.
• Able and willing to perform physically demanding tasks in various environmental conditions.
• Able and willing to travel to domestic and international sites to support program tasks when/if required.

• Greater than 10 years’ engineering writing experience.
• Willing to obtain higher-level clearance, if required.
• Multidisciplinary — experienced/certified military instructor.
