Overview
Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C., is hiring a Senior Project Manager in Elkridge, Maryland. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of sales projects, including coordinating workload of Project Managers, coordinating start-ups and other related services for cost-effectiveness; running various reports related to sales and forecasting of deliveries.
Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day operations of sales projects and coordinate workload of Project Managers.
- Coordinate start-ups and other related services for cost-effectiveness.
- Run various reports related to sales and forecasting of deliveries.
- Minimum of ten years experience in the Power Generation field; minimum of ten years Project Management experience.
- Bachelor s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, preferred.
- Excellent operational knowledge of Genset installations, including transfer switches, UPS, and paralleling switch gear.
- Must be able to move between projects as priorities change.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills required.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to understand, interpret and meet complex customer needs; define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Detail oriented.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; mediation and negotiation experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and coordinate multiple tasks; travel to various sites; maintain an excellent driving record.
- PMP certification preferred.

Physical requirements must be met for the Senior Project Manager job, including regularly sitting and talking or hearing. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
Additional duties may be assigned.
Starting Compensation Range: $110,000 - $145,000 per year
Actual base salary may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations. In addition to base salary, the compensation package may include participation in performance-based incentive programs, as well as overtime eligibility depending on the role.
