Position SummaryWe are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Yard Lead to oversee material flow in and out of our Elkridge yard. This role blends hands-on physical work with operational oversight, requiring strong organizational skills, confidence in problem solving, and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
Working with our Yard Manager, you’ll manage shipping and receiving, ensure accurate inventory, and keep the yard organized and safe. You’ll also play a key role in coordinating local and over-the-road (OTR) deliveries, supporting our commitment to meet customer deadlines. Dependability is critical—we make promises to our customers, and keeping them starts with you.
Normal hours are 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility required to start early or stay late as business needs dictate.
Key Responsibilities Daily Operations- Manage local and OTR deliveries, including coordinating with vendors and customers.
- Check for incoming material deliveries and pickups.
- Pull and prepare customer orders, including frequent heavy lifting of 70+ lbs.
- Cut, stack, palletize, and band materials.
- Load and unload OMD, customer, and third-party trucks.
- Operate Combi-lift forklift and/or telehandler.
- Update job tracking system.
- Receive, check, and organize stock material; spray paint bundles for identification and rotate stock.
- Perform deliveries as needed.
- Manage fuel for equipment.
- Conduct physical inventory of all products.
- Update idle jobs in the system.
- Maintain overall yard organization, cleanliness, and safety.

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training a plus.
- 1+ years of forklift operation (required).
- 1+ years of experience reading and using a tape measure (required).
- Prior experience in shipping/receiving or heavy equipment operation strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must maintain a clean driving record and a valid license.
