The CDL Delivery Driver is responsible for safely loading, transporting, unloading, and delivering materials to customers in an accurate and timely manner. This position ensures compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and all traffic laws while providing exceptional customer service. Drivers are expected to maintain delivery vehicles through routine inspections and basic maintenance, complete all required delivery documentation, obtain customer signatures and COD payments when applicable, and report any vehicle issues or accidents immediately.
The role also includes supporting warehouse operations by stocking materials, unloading vehicles upon return, and performing additional duties as assigned by management.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Deliver materials accurately and place them in customer-designated locations.
- Transport materials in compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and all traffic laws.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance, including checking lights, tires, fluid levels, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness.
- Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or safety concerns promptly.
- Obtain proof of delivery signatures and collect COD payments when required.
- Return all delivery documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service.
- Adhere to company safety policies, including no cell phone use or smoking while operating company vehicles.
- Support warehouse operations, including stocking materials and completing other duties assigned by management.
- 1–2 years of related delivery or warehouse experience or equivalent.
- Valid Class B CDL with a clean driving record.
- Current DOT physical certification.
- Knowledge of delivery practices and material handling procedures.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible, dependable, and committed to workplace safety and customer service.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
- Ability to lift, push, or carry up to 75 pounds.
- Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Ability to operate forklifts, order pickers, Moffett equipment, and other warehouse machinery safely.
