Oversee the daily operations of the sorting center warehouse, including receiving, sorting, staging, and cross-docking, ensuring efficient and on-time execution of all logistics activities. Develop, implement, and continuously optimize warehouse operating procedures and standards to improve productivity, reduce operating costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. Monitor inventory levels, optimize warehouse layout and storage utilization, ensure inventory accuracy, and promptly resolve inventory discrepancies and exceptions.
Lead and manage the warehouse operations team, including recruiting, onboarding, training, performance evaluation, employee engagement, and career development. Conduct regular training sessions to improve employees' operational skills, service awareness, and compliance with standard operating procedures and safety regulations. Allocate manpower efficiently based on business demands and operational priorities to ensure smooth daily operations.
Oversee the maintenance and management of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, racking systems, sorting equipment, and other operational tools, ensuring equipment is properly maintained and functioning efficiently. Implement and enforce warehouse safety policies, conduct safety training, and ensure compliance with all safety procedures to prevent workplace accidents. Supervise warehouse fire safety, cargo security, and employee safety by conducting regular safety inspections and emergency response drills.
Develop warehouse operating budgets and monitor expenses to ensure effective cost control through process optimization and efficient resource utilization. Establish warehouse performance metrics (KPIs), regularly evaluate operational performance, analyze results, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely warehouse cost reporting and provide operational data to support business decisions.
Work closely with internal departments, including Procurement, Sales, and Customer Service, to ensure effective communication and resolve operational issues in a timely manner. Coordinate with external vendors, carriers, and logistics partners to ensure the timely movement, transportation, and delivery of goods. Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly while maintaining strong customer relationships and delivering excellent service.
Bachelor's degree or above in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse operations or sorting center management. Previous team leadership or supervisory experience is preferred. Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics processes. Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data, identify issues, and develop effective solutions.
Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills with the ability to motivate employees and drive results. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
