About Cecil College
Cecil College was founded in 1968 to meet the post-secondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents. The College is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the governor. The College’s fifth president, Dr. Mary Way Bolt, reports directly to the Board of Trustees. Cecil College is centrally located in Maryland’s northeastern county, near Interstate 95, accessible from Philadelphia, Baltimore, Wilmington, DE, and other areas.
The College enrolls approximately 2,500 credit students and 3,400 non-credit students and offers associate degrees, certificate programs and non-credit classes through open admissions. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US, as the College does not offer Visa sponsor ships.
Cecil College is seeking part-time instructors to teach continuing education courses in the following subjects:
- Youth and Homeschooling classes
- Design and deliver dynamic STEM and creative enrichment courses for youth and homeschool students
- Develop original, age-appropriate curriculum aligned with learning goals
- Plan and facilitate fun, creative, and learning-based activities that strengthen student skills such as problem solving, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking
- Create an inclusive, engaging classroom environment that encourages curiosity, confidence, and creativity
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction to support meaningful learning outcomes
- Background in education, teaching, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated teaching experience with children or teens

- Passion for STEM, creativity, and innovative learning approaches
- Strong curriculum development skills
This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling during afternoons, evenings, and homeschool hours.
Physical DemandsThis position involves sedentary work with occasional lifting up to 10 pounds. Walking and standing may be necessary in carrying out job duties.
Work EnvironmentWork environment involves everyday risks or discomforts typical of office or training room settings, with standard safety precautions for office equipment, trips and falls, fire and building safety regulations, and traffic safety when driving.

The rate for the position is $24/hr posted on 2/2/2026.
Based upon the budgeted hours of a position, contribution to the Maryland State Retirement Pension System may be required.
