Founded in 1968 to meet the post-secondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents, Cecil College has been serving the community and shaping its future for more than 50 years. The College is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the governor. The College's fifth president, Dr. Mary Way Bolt, reports directly to the Board of Trustees.
Cecil College is centrally located in Maryland's most northeastern county, just one half mile from Interstate 95. It is easily accessible from Philadelphia and Baltimore, as well as from Wilmington, Delaware.
With a diverse student population, Cecil College enrolls approximately 2,500 credit students and 3,400 non-credit students. Cecil offers associate degrees, certificate programs and non-credit classes. Cecil offers a variety of associate degree and certificate programs.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Dean of Business, Technology, Community, and Workforce Education oversees the administration and supervises and supports the academic instruction in the following areas:
Business, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Transportation, Logistics, Workforce/Skilled Trades, Lifelong Learning and associated labs. The dean oversees student appeals; planning, resource allocation, faculty and staff hiring and evaluation, curriculum development, scheduling, course and program assessments.
The Dean provides visionary leadership, strategic oversight, and direction to advance the college's strategic goals. The Dean represents the Business, Technology, Workforce and Community Education areas on the Vice-President's staff.
Due to the need of interaction with students, employees and the college community this position requires in-person presence. This position is eligible for telework based on Telework policy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Ensure that all Business, Technology, Community, and Workforce Education Programs are in compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations. In accordance with the CAO, faculty and staff, recommend academic/instructional policies and procedures for Business, Technology, Workforce and Community Education credit and non-credit programs which include curriculum, course scheduling, faculty and adjunct assignments, evaluations and promotions and contract renewals. Ensure that all policies and procedures are reviewed and updated in a timely manner.
Ensure maintenance of records/files of course syllabi and program curricula submitted by faculty and approved by the Academic Affairs Committee.
* Demonstrates the ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse faculty members, identify and address their needs to support student success initiatives and foster positive educational outcomes.
* Ensure Business, Technology, Community, and Workforce Education course and program assessments are completed within the prescribed time frames.
* Provide oversight and leadership in the development of the Business, Technology, Community, and Workforce Education operational budgets by collecting, consolidating and prioritizing department inputs. Monitors expenditures monthly for reconciliation.
* Provides day-to-day leadership and coaching to staff and faculty; ensures cross-training/coverage as needed within areas, and supports professional development.
* Supervise the recruitment and hiring for staff and faculty positions. Conduct Performance Evaluation reviews in support of the Performance Management Program.
