Chemical Manufacturing Engineer(Local Candidates Only)
Elkton, MDSalary Range: $65,000-$110,000### SUMMARY The Chemical Manufacturing Engineer will perform entry-level through advanced engineering tasks under the supervision of a senior engineer with the goals of resolving plant issues and developing more advanced engineering skills. This position requires strong analytical skills and an ability to interact with both the hourly workforce and plant management daily. Overarching work scope is to identify opportunities and implement actions to continuously improve existing production processes and develop new production processes and infrastructure in support of the priorities of plant management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provides entry-level through advanced support to the engineering department.
* Verifies and tests assigned metrics on projects.
* Records test results and analyzes data using Excel/Minitab .
* Organizes and analyzes data, writes summary reports.
* Identifies potential areas of product improvement; recommends and assists with development of appropriate solutions using approved facility methods.
* Ensures compliance with applicable company and client quality requirements in all assigned programs, functions, products, and areas.
* Maintain accurate documentation for departments (procedures, forms, work instructions.)
* Assist with customer complaints involving investigations into root causes and corrective actions.
* Identifies and reports problems with specific processes or products to senior engineers and plant management.
* Assists senior engineers, maintenance, and operations teams in the development of new methods to improve product quality and process efficacy and efficiency.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
* Works closely with R&D, production, on development and improvement projects.

REQUIREMENTS AND

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. A master’s degree is a plus.
* Previous internship or work experience in related field highly desired.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to comprehend and follow directions.
* Basic understanding of quality systems (e.g., ISO-9000)
* Proficient with MS Office, Minitab, Auto CAD desired.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* Prolonged periods of standing, monitoring or auditing a process.
* Must be able to lift up to thirty pounds at times.
* Must be able to work in a chemical plant environment, climb stairs and ladders, and frequent walking through the facility.
* Must be able to travel to various job sites and traverse locations to obtain necessary data.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
* Less than 10% travel.
