Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking a Manager 3 – Test Engineering to join our Propulsion Systems & Controls Business Unit Engineering group at the Elkton, MD or Ronkonkoma, NY locations.

The Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) Business Unit designs and develops solid rocket motor and liquid-fueled air-breathing propulsion solutions for various military applications, including hypersonic missions. PS&C is comprised of approximately 800 personnel across our three campus locations in Elkton, Maryland (headquarters), Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and Ronkonkoma, New York.

Elkton, Maryland is located in the Northeast, conveniently located within 1 hour of Baltimore, Maryland and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Ronkonkoma, NY is located on Long Island, approximately 1 hour north of New York city. There are many land-based and water-based attractions in close proximity to both locations.

As the leader of the Test Engineering groups, consisting of approximately 30 engineers and 3 managers, you will be responsible for: safely and successfully planning and executing all test activities; establishing the strategy for development and implementation of new capabilities, tools, and processes; ensuring compliance with internal and Government requirements, including Northrop Grumman Hazardous Operating Standards (HOPS); and training and development of our personnel.

This position will involve test activities in the Elkton, MD facility, Ronkonkoma, NY facility, and external facilities.

• Managing execution of all Test Engineering activities, with focus on safety and technical excellence while meeting schedule and cost objectives.
• Development of a strategic plan to improve Test Engineering capabilities, processes and tools. This includes increasing throughput through the facilities in order to accommodate our increasing test needs, due to our growing solid rocket motor and liquid-fueled air-breathing propulsion business.
