Provide information technology services to internal customers (employees) responsible for a broad array of social service programs serving the citizens of Cecil County. This position is responsible for deploying, repairing and maintaining hardware/software equipment including PCs, laptops, iPads, VoIP phones, cell phones, copiers, and scanners.
Position Duties User Customer Service- Respond to user work orders received via the Help Ticket system promptly and professionally, providing resolution to software, hardware and application issues.
- Maintain contact with software/hardware vendors to troubleshoot and resolve equipment or application problems.
- Repair malfunctioning printers, computers, iPhones, iPads and other devices as possible.
- Install and upgrade computer software applications, using Intune and Management Console.
- Monitor agency computers and services for viruses and malware.
- Orient/retrain users in the appropriate utilization of DHS systems for security purposes.
- Maintain agency VOIP system and automated attendant telephone system.
- Configure changes for new and existing employees for telephone and voice mail applications.
- Maintain and troubleshoot agency copiers under contract and consult with technicians when necessary.
- Network copiers when possible for best economic outcome.
- Two years and six months of experience, including one year of experience planning, integrating and maintaining software and hardware for local or wide area computer networks and an additional eighteen months of experience converting data from project specifications by preparing program code using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools; planning, installing and maintaining data communications network lines and devices;
or evaluating, implementing and maintaining computer hardware and software. - Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and fifteen credit hours from an accredited college or university in systems analysis and applications programming using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools for the additional eighteen months of the required experience.
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and completion of a certification program in Network Administration, such as Certified Novell Administrator (CNA), Microsoft Certified Product Specialist NT 4.0 Administrator or equivalent certification program for the additional eighteen months of the required experience.
- Experience in operating computer systems, scheduling, controlling input and output or maintaining backups or data storage, processing data on computer systems, evaluating, implementing and maintaining computer hardware and software or converting data from project specifications by developing programs using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools, on a year‑for‑year basis for graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
