Position Overview
Allied Universal®, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a part‑time Flex Security Officer with Secret clearance for Elkton, MD. Pay starts at $23.59 an hour.
Work requires walking, standing, and outdoor patrol duties. The role is eligible for ongoing training and career growth opportunities.
Responsibilities- Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
- Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
- Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
- Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
- Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property is conducted within client requirements.
- Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
- Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
- Minimum 1 year of security experience.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Valid driver’s license with at least 1 year of driving experience.
- DoD‑issued Secret Clearance.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
- Effective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
- Active listening and problem‑solving skills.
- Assessment and evaluation of situations; ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
- Conflict mediation with tact and diplomacy.
- Teamwork and attention to detail.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages.
- Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.
