We are currently recruiting for a full‑time Security Officer at our Cecil Campus location. The successful candidate will work either straight days or straight overnights, including weekends and holidays, according to a two‑week rotating schedule. The officer will patrol the grounds to protect and maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, patients and visitors, conduct investigations related to incidents on the property, respond to alarms, enforce parking regulations, and report incidents.
Education and Experience RequirementsHS Diploma or GED equivalent (required).
Maryland Department of State Police, Licensing Division, Security Guard Certification required upon hire or obtained within 90 days of hire (required).
Associate degree or higher in Criminal Justice or a related field (preferred).
Two years of experience in campus/hospital security, law enforcement, or another related field (preferred).
Special RequirementsAcceptable driver’s record in good standing.
Maryland Department of State Police, Licensing Division, Security Guard Certification required upon hire or within 90 days of hire (required).
Responsibilities- Work closely with law enforcement agencies of jurisdiction
- Patrol campus facilities, providing visible security coverage during hours of operation
- Respond to calls for service for students, faculty, staff and visitors, as necessary
- Investigate incidents and accidents and complete written reports in accordance with department policies
- Operate DELJIS, Report Executive Records Management System, Access Control Systems and other assigned technology

Hourly Pay Range: $18.19 – $26.37. This pay rate/range represents Christiana Care's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including, without limitation, skills, relevant experience and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
