Receiving Clerk Overnights

Job Summary

As a Receiving Clerk, you will effectively and efficiently complete receiving processes, including verification of receiving documents, proper data entry of products being received, and effective document management. You will communicate with inbound drivers to ensure accurate and timely receipt of inventory.

• Communicate with inbound drivers
• Verify documentation for product received, such as Bills of Lading, WMS receiving documents, purchase orders, date codes, pallet verification reports, and receiving exception reports
• Notify supervisor of major discrepancies before products are received
• Properly document inbound carriers in the Receiving Log
• Post receive purchase orders
• Prepare the Receiving Exception Report daily
• Coordinate with receiver and unloader on dock door assignments and driver contact
• Assist with collection of freight handling fees, late delivery fees, check approvals for these amounts, and issue receipts
• Compile end‑of‑shift receiving/inventory debriefs
• Check APT to ensure team members’ time and performance are accurate
• Properly document outbound trailers in the shipping log
• Promptly report damage and all inventory discrepancies
• Maintain all food safety, housekeeping, and other applicable standards
• Cross‑train to cover Shipping Clerk functions as needed
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED required
• College coursework, continuing technical education, or comparable business experience is a plus
• Receiving or warehouse experience preferred
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficiency using email, word‑processing, spreadsheets, WMS, and other applications
• Ability to accommodate flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays

• Independently lift up to 50lbs. frequently and 100lbs. occasionally
• Sit, stand, walk, bend, squat regularly in a refrigerated warehouse environment
• Grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product or a hand truck) frequently
• Endurance for continuous, fast‑paced work
• Fluctuating temperatures within the perishable DC, including freezing temperatures as low as –20°F
• Work while wearing appropriate PPE (steel‑toed footwear, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc.)
• Products may contain food allergens (fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)
• Utilize equipment (computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, etc.) safely and accurately after training

Good‑faith estimate: $20.75 – $24.90 per hour. Actual salaries will vary depending on location, education, experience, and qualifications.
