The Physics Department at CWU is accepting applications to fill possible part-time lecturer positions. The primary responsibility will be to teach introductory physics and astronomy courses. All introductory courses are expected to integrate lecture and lab activities to promote active student learning.
Minimum Qualifications
* Master's Degree in physics or a closely related field.
* Experience teaching physics at the undergraduate level or similar instructional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
* PhD Degree (or ABD for PhD) in physics or a closely related field.
* Experience with interactive teaching techniques.
* Experience with online or hybrid course delivery
* Demonstrated ability to work with students at all skill levels.
Pay & Work Schedule
Pay :
Based on the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The minimum remuneration for the non-tenure-track titles for the academic year will be as follows:
(a) Lecturer: $1,188 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $950 per workload unit for faculty without terminal degrees.
(b) Senior Lecturer: $1,307 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $1,044 per workload unit for faculty without terminal degrees.

This announcement will be used to develop a pool of applicants for positions in the department of Physics through March 2026. There is a possibility that selected applicants may be called on short notice to fill lecturer vacancies on a quarter-by-quarter basis.
Screening of applications begins immediately and will continue as needed. The number of lecturer positions filled varies from quarter to quarter, depending upon the needs of the department. Positions typically start at the beginning of an academic quarter. Your application will be maintained in this pool for consideration through March 2026.
