Position Overview
Central Washington University is recruiting an Assistant Professor of Information Technology Management to join our Information Technology Management (ITM) team in Ellensburg, Washington. This campus‑based tenure‑track position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.
ResponsibilitiesThe Department of Information Technology Management invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor whose primary teaching responsibilities include the department's IT Management core curriculum. Areas of instruction include leadership, professional communication, data privacy, cybersecurity, and foundational courses in information technology management. The role requires:
- Teaching a wide range of courses at all levels and modalities, including in‑person, hybrid, online, and competency‑based education.
- Engaging students through innovative instruction and maintaining an active program of scholarly activity.
- Contributing to student success, advising, and service that strengthens the department, university, profession, and community.
- Terminal degree in a relevant discipline (ABD candidates may be considered if the degree is completed within one year of start date).
- At least five years of industry experience in information technology management, privacy and security, organizational management and leadership, or related fields.
- Superior teaching abilities.
- Ability to meet or exceed tenure requirements.
- Experience that has prepared the candidate to contribute to CWU's vision of a model learning community of access and opportunity.
- Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in IT management or related disciplines using student‑centered instructional practices.
- Experience or interest in developing and teaching online, hybrid, and competency‑based courses.
- Experience in curriculum development and improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate current and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and data‑informed decision‑making, into teaching and scholarly activity.
- Evidence of an active or emerging program of scholarly activity with an applied focus in information technology management or related fields.
- Demonstrated service to students and/or the IT management profession.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to student success through initiatives that promote access, engagement, retention, and achievement.
Annual Salary: $76,000 – $85,000, based on a full‑time nine‑month appointment.
Appointment:
Full‑time, tenured‑track, nine‑month. Additional summer teaching may be available. The university operates on a quarter system with appointments from mid‑September through mid‑June.
