Central Washington University is recruiting a Chemistry Lecturer to join our Chemistry team in Ellensburg, Washington. The position is campus‑based and offers a competitive salary and comprehensive CWU benefits.
The RoleTeach introductory chemistry lecture and laboratory courses for science majors as well as non‑science majors. Instructional duties may also include upper‑division courses in biochemistry. The incumbent will possess superior teaching abilities and a willingness to teach a wide range of courses at all levels and modalities. The faculty member will be invited to participate as a full member of the department and integrate CWU’s vision, mission, and values to foster student success.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree in biochemistry or a chemistry‑related discipline.
- Superior teaching abilities.
- Willingness to teach a wide range of courses at all levels and modalities.
- Teaching, research, service, or other experience that has prepared the candidate to contribute to CWU’s commitment to the engagement of students from a variety of backgrounds.
- PhD in biochemistry or a chemistry‑related discipline (ABD candidates may be considered provided the terminal degree is completed within one year of start date).
- University‑level teaching experience.
- Experience or interest in developing and teaching online courses.
- Experience in curriculum development and improvement.
- Experience working collaboratively or using a variety of teaching methods designed for broad student success.
- Experience or interest in mentoring students from a variety of backgrounds.

Annual salary: $44,955 – $56,160, based on a full‑time nine‑month appointment. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
AppointmentTemporary, non‑tenure‑track, nine‑month appointment. Additional summer teaching may be available. Central Washington University is on the quarter system with appointments from mid‑September through mid‑June.
