The Role:

Primary responsibilities for this position in the Department of Mathematics include teaching existing introductory in-person courses in mathematics (such as pre-calculus, calculus, and linear algebra) and advanced courses in mathematics, statistics, and actuarial science for students majoring in actuarial science, applied mathematics, mathematics education, and other fields.

The successful candidate will possess superior teaching abilities, a plan for ongoing scholarship at CWU, and a willingness to provide service to the department, university, community, and the profession.

Faculty will integrate CWU's vision, mission, and values with their teaching, scholarship, and service to create a learning environment that fosters student success and institutional excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate by September 1, 2027, in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science
  • Evidence of teaching excellence and a commitment to undergraduate teaching
  • Willingness to teach a wide range of courses at all levels
  • Evidence of ability to develop an active scholarship program at a teaching institution
  • Teaching, scholarship, or service experience that aligns with CWU's commitment to the engagement of students from a variety of backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
