Central Washington University is recruiting a Maintenance Mechanic 2 to join our Housing Facilities team in Ellensburg, Washington. This campus-based position offers a salary ranging from $60,132 to $69,744 annually. The role plays an important part in supporting and empowering students in our community.

The RoleThis position performs journey‑level pest control and skilled maintenance work for Housing and Residence Life quella across our warehouse facilities, residence halls, and student apartments. You will be the primary pest control technician and lead all prevention, inspection, and treatment of pests within the residential campus. Additional maintenance responsibilities include refrigeration, furniture repair, compactor service, appliance repair, carpentry, inventory control of over 80,000 items, refuse/recycling/garbage, and special projects assigned by the Housing Facilities Manager.
The role also provides services to other departments on campus.
- Manage comprehensive pest control operations across the residential campus.
- Lead prevention, inspection, and treatment procedures for all pests.
- Perform routine maintenance on refrigeration units, furniture, compactor systems, appliances, and carpentry projects.
- Maintain inventory control for over 80,000 items including furniture, appliances, and electronics.
- Assist with refuse, recycling, and garbage management.
- CUSTOM PROJECTS assigned by the Housing Facilities Acre Manager.
- Provide support to other campus departments as directed.
