Party Crew Chief

We are seeking an experienced Survey Party Crew Chief to join an established surveying team in Ellicott City, Maryland
. This position will lead field crews across a variety of land surveying projects while remaining hands-on with field operations, equipment, calculations, and project execution.

• Lead and supervise an assigned survey field crew
• Perform and oversee boundary, topographic, construction and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys
• Review project scope, plans, plats, legal descriptions and available survey information prior to field work
• Operate robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS and survey data collection equipment
• Perform survey calculations and maintain accurate field notes, sketches and electronic records
• Identify field conflicts and communicate project status with office staff
• Train and develop junior field personnel
• Maintain survey equipment, field vehicles and supplies
• Ensure field work follows appropriate safety and traffic-control procedures
• Coordinate with project managers and office personnel to complete projects accurately and efficiently

• 3+ years of land surveying field experience
• Previous experience leading, supervising or training survey field personnel preferred
• Strong knowledge of surveying principles, field procedures and calculations
• Experience with robotic and GPS/GNSS survey equipment
• Ability to interpret construction plans, maps, plats and legal descriptions
• Valid driver's license
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and traverse active construction sites
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required
