Facilities Assistant

Greenspring Montessori School is seeking a Facilities Assistant for immediate hire. The Greenspring Montessori School Facilities Assistant is hard-working, responsible, reliable, and the “go-to” person on campus. This individual must be willing to do whatever is needed from security to mowing grass, moving furniture, and cleaning up spills. Greenspring Facilities Assistant takes pride in their work, maintains a positive attitude, enjoys children, demonstrates professionalism with families, staff, and children, and is kind and courteous.

Greenspring Montessori School has been offering a Montessori education to students since 1962. Nestled on a 7-acre property that was originally a dairy farm, students ages 18 months through grade 8 thrive in our newly renovated buildings, state-of-the-art Montessori classrooms, and rich outdoor learning environments.

• Maintain and inspect the grounds, buildings, and playgrounds
• Make necessary repairs and maintenance checks to all facility equipment, ensuring all are in good working order
• Check on classrooms daily for cleanliness and check for potential overnight concerns
• Diligently check campus for safety
• Friendly demeanor with staff and families
• Clean up spills and messes
• Direct traffic
• Mow, trim, mulch, weed, and maintain beautiful grounds
• Keep sidewalks clear of all debris (snow, leaves, etc.)
• Oversee set-up for all school functions
• Make runs for supplies and materials for repairs
• Maintain an inventory of hand tools

• Understanding of mechanics
• Ability to be very physical for eight hours a day
• Lift and carry heavy objects

This is a year-round, part-time position Monday through Friday from 10:00am-6:00pm. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Experience working in maintenance (2 years preferred)
• Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check
• Must have a Driver’s License

Authorization to work in the United States is a pre-condition of employment at Greenspring Montessori School.
