Job Description: We are seeking Civil Engineering & Surveying Professionals with a focus on Project Management to support land development projects throughout Maryland. The ideal candidate will have experience with Maryland entitlements and permitting processes, strong technical expertise, and the ability to manage projects, clients, and internal teams effectively. Candidates with a Professional Engineer (PE) or Licensed Architect (LA) credential are strongly preferred.
This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects while contributing to technical execution, client relationships, and team leadership.
- Manage land development and civil engineering projects from concept through approval and construction
- Lead Maryland entitlement and permitting processes, including coordination with local agencies
- Prepare and review civil design plans including grading, stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, and site layout
- Perform and oversee water resources and drainage design in compliance with MD regulations
- Coordinate with survey, planning, and multidisciplinary teams
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and billing (fiscal management)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders
- Support mentoring, task delegation, and performance management of junior staff
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 1-8 years of relevant civil engineering or land development experience
- Proven experience with Maryland entitlements, approvals, and permitting
- Strong technical skills in:
- Grading design
- Erosion & Sediment Control (E&S)
- Site development and layout
- Stormwater and water resources design
- Active Maryland licensure (or ability to obtain promptly)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and client-management skills
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Licensed Architect (LA)
- Prior project management experience in land development or site/civil engineering
- Experience supervising and mentoring engineering staff
- Familiarity with local MD jurisdictions and regulatory agencies
