- Administer prescribed medications to residents according to physician orders and Maryland medication administration regulations.
- Accurately document medication administration in the Medication Administration Record (MAR).
- Observe residents for medication effectiveness, side effects, adverse reactions, and changes in condition, reporting concerns promptly to the nurse or supervisor.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and mobility, as needed.
- Measure and record vital signs when required.
- Ensure medications are stored, handled, and disposed of according to facility policies and state regulations.
- Reorder medications and maintain adequate medication supplies.
- Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, nurses, and family members regarding resident care when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate resident documentation and complete required reports.
- Respond promptly to resident emergencies and follow established emergency procedures.
- Maintain infection control and safety standards throughout the facility.
- Foster respectful, compassionate relationships with residents while protecting their dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Current Maryland Medication Technician certification or approved Medication Administration training required.
