Job Summary

The main purpose of this full-time contractual position is to provide comprehensive school nursing services to the students and staff of the Dorchester County Public Schools.

• Medication administration
• Skilled nursing treatments
• Age appropriate health screenings
• Assessment and care of the sick or injured
• Health record maintenance
• Immunization reviews
• Case management of chronic health concerns
• Care plan development
• Multidisciplinary team participation

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Experience:
  
  None.
• Notes:
  Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with one year of Registered Nurse experience, or two years of Registered Nurse experience, or U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing or related specialties on a year‑for‑year basis.

• Current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing.
• Motor vehicle operator’s license valid in Maryland if duties require driving.

Contractual employees who meet the hours requirement may be eligible for subsidized health benefits under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program. Additional options include dental, accidental death and dismemberment, and life insurance with self‑payment of premiums. Leave may be granted at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 40 hours per calendar year.
