ASPIRE Maryland: Sewa--Community Liason

Overview

We are seeking Ameri Corps members to serve as Community Liaisons. The Community Liaison will connect with parents and the larger school community to identify areas of need, tap into resources, and support community well‑being. They will work with the School Community Liaison to provide access to resources and services, and build ties with area agencies and businesses.

• Serve productively across service environments and adhere to program policies and procedures.
• Meet monthly service hour benchmarks and balance service activities.
• Demonstrate professional behavior, flexibility, and effective communication to resolve conflicts.
• Implement service plans with supervision, use appropriate language with students, and follow supervisor recommendations for community connection.
• Maintain electronic and paper records accurately.
• Maintain a professional appearance, adhere to the Ameri Corps dress code and logo policy, and sign in by 8:00 am.
• Complete weekly timesheets by Monday at 8:00 am and follow protocols for tardy, absences, and early departure.
• Support summer schools and community partners during June, and serve through the end of the contract period regardless of hours accrued.

Education award upon successful completion of service, living allowance, and training.

• A minimum of 1200 hours with at least 33 hours per week for 10 months.
• Some college education level.
• Minimum age 18, maximum age 75.
• English language proficiency;
  Spanish is a plus.

• Full‑time schedule, 10 months (August 2026 to June 2027).
• Locations:
  Washington and Baltimore, Maryland.
• Transportation: a car is recommended.
• Service areas:
  Education and Community Outreach.
• Skills:
  
  counseling, education, teaching/tutoring, conflict resolution, community organization, public speaking, recruitment, communications, and basic computer skills.
