Position Summary/Class Description
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
: A variety of instructional fitness and aerobics classes of varying intensities are offered throughout the county such as: dance aerobics, step aerobics, circuit weight training, aquatic Zumba, kick boxing and toning.
- Teach aquatic water aerobics or fitness classes for various age groups and abilities.
- Demonstrate proper workout techniques and safety procedures, oversee use of facilities, and keep records of class attendance.
- Select own music and exercises to use in class.
- Proficient in a specific area, able to develop a teaching plan for a diversified group of people, demonstrate effective aerobic exercise skills, and communicate directions effectively.
- Fitness Certification required and Aquatics Fitness certification required for all water fitness programs.
Minimum Required Education/Experience
:
At least two (2) years teaching and/or participating in/experience with specific program area.
- Possess a nationally recognized certification or state license pertaining to the specific activity.
- Possess basic First Aid and CPR certification.
- Community first aid certification preferred but not required.
Salary commensurate with experience and certification. Contingent - Professional: $16.00 - $38.00 per hour.
