Permanent Substitute Teacher
Ellington Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a Permanent Substitute Teacher for the school year. This position will cover grades 7-8 at Ellington Middle School. The Permanent Substitute Teacher will serve as the primary substitute for the district when classroom teachers are out. The assignment will vary from day-to-day and will not include long-term assignments. Preferred candidate should hold a valid grade-appropriate Connecticut teaching certificate.
In addition, a state and national criminal check will be required, as well as a state DCF search. The permanent substitute is expected to report to work every day school is in session. The substitute will be guaranteed a teaching assignment each day that school is in session. The permanent substitute teacher will be paid at the rate of $120/day for candidates that are not certified and $130/day for certified candidates.
There are no additional benefits. Assignments will be made through the district's Substitute Coordinators. Applicants chosen for an initial interview will be contacted.
