Building Substitute Teacher

Ellington Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a building substitute teacher for fiscal year 2026/2027. This position will cover grades Pre-K - 6th grade at Center School.

The building substitute will serve as the primary substitute for the district when classroom teachers are out. The assignment will vary from day-to-day and will not include long-term assignments.

Preferred candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in any field. In addition, a state and national criminal check will be required, as well as a state DCF search.

The building substitute teacher will be paid at the rate of $17.14/hour for non-certified candidates and $18.57/hour for certified candidates. There are no additional benefits. Assignments will be made through the district's substitute coordinators.
