Permanent Substitute Teacher
Ellington Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a Permanent Substitute Teacher for the school year. This position will cover grades Pre-K - 6th Grade at Windermere Elementary School. The Permanent Substitute Teacher will serve as the primary substitute for the district when classroom teachers are out. The assignment will vary from day-to-day and will not include long-term assignments. Preferred candidate must hold a bachelors degree in any field.
In addition, a state and national criminal check will be required, as well as a state DCF search. The permanent substitute is expected to report to work every Tuesday and Thursday while school is in session and will be guaranteed a teaching assignment each day that school is in session. The permanent substitute teacher will be paid at the rate of $17.14/Hour for non-certified candidates and $18.57/Hour for certified candidates.
There are no additional benefits. Assignments will be made through the district's Substitute Coordinators. Applicants chosen for an initial interview will be contacted.
