Financial Analyst, Payroll
Position Details:
Schedule: Full-Time, Year-Round
Department: Accounting / Payroll
Shifts: Vary but will primarily be weekdays.
Learn and audit Bar Harbor Inn daily audit paperwork across multiple systems, including Book4
Time, Opera, Symphony, Shift4, Heartland, Gift Up, and StripeProcess and audit imported data in complex Excel worksheets, ensuring accuracy across multiple interconnected spreadsheets
Process payroll weekly using UKG software (multiple modules) and related Excel worksheets
Continue to learn and apply payroll-related policies, procedures, and employment laws
Guide the onboarding payroll processes, including high-volume seasonal hiring and rehires (300+ employees), with a focus on H-2B program requirements and reimbursements
Initiate & generate data for annual payroll processes such as:
Annual pay increases (March/April)
End-of-season bonuses
Seasonal employee separations, including PTO payouts, H-2B reimbursements, and housing deposit returns
Complete required quarterly and annual payroll verifications, including 941s and W-2s
Assist with backend payroll reporting in UKG for HR and leadership requests
Collaborate with department managers across properties to support payroll accuracy and communication
Take on additional payroll- and accounting-related tasks as needed
Qualifications:
Basic payroll processing experience preferred, but not required
Excellent working knowledge of Excel is required (comfort with detailed, data-heavy spreadsheets)
Experience with
UKG and/or Sage 50 software is a plusHighly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Patient, reliable, and able to multitask in a high-volume environment
Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn complex processes
Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team
