Middle School ELA Team Teacher (Grades 6–8)

The Middle School ELA Team Teacher provides instruction in reading, writing, grammar, and spelling for students in grades 6–8 through a collaborative team‑teaching model. This position emphasizes evidence‑based literacy practices grounded in the Science of Reading and works closely with special education teachers and support staff to provide high‑quality instruction in inclusive classroom settings.

100 Certification (6-12 English Language Arts)

• Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction aligned with Maine Learning Results and district curriculum.
• Co‑plan, co‑teach, and collaborate with special education teachers and other support staff to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Use evidence‑based literacy practices to support the development of reading, writing, vocabulary, and language skills.
• Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate supports within inclusive classroom settings.
• Analyze student data and adjust instruction to improve student outcomes.
• Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes student engagement, growth, and achievement.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues regarding student progress and learning goals.
• Participate in team meetings, professional learning, and collaborative planning.
• Support district initiatives related to literacy improvement, MTSS, and inclusive practices.
