Overview
At L.L.Bean, we believe the outdoors brings out the best in all of us. The outlet store in Ellsworth, Maine is seeking a Store Team Leader of Retail Operations to drive business results and ensure the legendary customer experience.
Position PurposeDrive business results, direct team talent, support store leadership, and uphold L.L.Bean’s core values (Outdoor Heritage, Integrity, Service, Respect, Perseverance, Safe and Healthy Living).
Responsibilities- Operations: maintain a clean, organized stock room; manage inbound freight processing per SOP; replenish sales floor; handle returns; execute omni‑channel business including FES orders; adhere to loss prevention policies; serve as safety contact or liaison.
- Customer
Experience:
model service, foster a service‑driven environment, convert customers, rally the rep team, lead on duty to drive conversion and sales, analyze business reports (Qualtrics, variance, merch sales) to identify opportunities, execute recognition programs. - Training & Development: support and train associates; deliver GUIDE training for new hires and ongoing training; ensure guides meet assessment standards; develop store champions and product training modules; maintain employee communication boards.
- Total Store Accountability: aid in achieving financial and area‑specific metrics; key holder when required; communicate daily tasks; adjust staffing; address employee issues; provide coaching; contribute to peak planning.
- Finance & Operations: own expense management, ensure budget adherence, manage the cash office, stock the service hub, ensure cashier execution and efficiency, focus on service delivery.
- Health & Safety: participate actively in health and safety policies, report unsafe conditions, model safe behaviors, reduce risks to acceptable levels.
- Associate degree or equivalent.
- 2+ years of retail experience.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Proficiency with POS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and social media platforms.
- Ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively.
- Ability to inspire and motivate others.
- High level of enthusiasm and positive attitude.
- Demonstrated commitment to an inclusive work environment.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Mobility and desire to relocate (plus).
2‑Year Associate degree; 2+ years of retail experience in a relevant retailer.
CompensationBase pay range: $17.88 to $22.34 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and competencies.
