SummaryThe Regional Security Supervisor reports to the Regional Manager of Security and Emergency Management and is responsible for the employees and duties assigned. This role includes operational support, training and education of employees, emergency notifications, directing and conducting patrol operations, responding to emergencies and calls for service, deterring and detecting suspicious activities, criminal acts, life safety hazards, and unsafe conditions. The Supervisor oversees workplace violence prevention strategies and supports employees and patients by using approved strategies and tactics to deter, de-escalate, and/or control incidents of workplace violence, and patients from injuring themselves and others and/or from destroying organizational property.
Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the activities of regional security teams, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and standards.
- Collaborate with the Regional Manager of Security and Emergency Management to develop and implement security strategies tailored to healthcare environments.
- Conduct routine site inspections to assess risks, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend improvements.
- Serve as the point of contact for security-related incidents, providing timely and effective resolutions.
- Oversee the training and professional development of security personnel, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to security operations.
- Coordinate emergency response efforts in alignment with Northern Light Health's protocols.
- Roles and Responsibilities:
Supervision and use of security technologies and systems, including video surveillance, access control, staff safety alerting, mass communications, and related tools. - Delivers training and education for newly hired employees and ongoing training to ensure security staff proficiency in established technologies and programs.
- Assists in the development and execution of security and emergency preparedness drills, simulations, tabletop exercises, and other activities.
- Assists with department inventory accountability and participates in required inspections and maintenance of department equipment.
- Supports Clinical Education in the delivery of training required by CMS, JCAHO, OSHA, and other regulatory entities as an instructor and subject matter expert.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Conducts or assists in investigations at the direction of the Regional Manager of Security and Emergency Management.
- Credentials: Required Driver's License
- Education: Required High School Diploma/GED; post-secondary education in safety (life and/or fire safety), security and emergency preparedness programs. Associate preferred. Two years of experience is required for every year of education in addition to the minimum experience identified above.
