OverviewWe are partnering with a growing manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the accounting and finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys working across month-end close, financial reporting, inventory, cost accounting, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in general accounting, understands manufacturing operations, and is comfortable collaborating with cross‑functional teams including Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance.
Responsibilities- Lead month‑end and year‑end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports and investigate variances.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Support inventory accounting, including inventory reconciliations, reserves, and valuation analysis.
- Assist with cost accounting activities, standard cost updates, manufacturing variances, and inventory transactions.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Support internal and external audit requests and prepare required documentation.
- Improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies.
- Partner with Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, and other business leaders to provide financial insights and support decision‑making.
- Assist with special projects, ERP implementations, and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with experience supporting a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month‑end close.
- Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, or manufacturing accounting.
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Experience working within an ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Net Suite, JD Edwards, Epicor, Infor, or similar.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- CPA or CPA‑track is a plus but not required.
- Manufacturing or industrial industry experience.
- Standard costing and inventory management.
- Fixed assets and capital project accounting.
- ERP implementation or system conversion experience.
- Process improvement and internal controls.
