Job Description

The Buyer will research and purchase supplies, equipment, and services required to support the delivery of healthcare services to patients.

• Oversees, monitors and maintains current inventory and stock levels across locations to help prevent shortages or excess inventory.
• Researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future demand and buying trends to avoid stock outs while minimizing excess inventory to control costs.
• Collaborates with colleagues across different departments to meet the needs of internal end-users, patients, and caregivers
• Develops and maintains relationships with wholesalers and suppliers.
• Supports contract negotiation with wholesalers and suppliers.
• Facilitates the purchase of equipment and supplies.
• Assesses financial risks of purchases and proactively engages with management and/or third-party vendors to identify potential alternatives that help manage costs.
• Maintains accurate records and documentation to maintain transparency and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Supports data and analytics needs associated with identifying trends, maintaining KPIs, and strengthening individual, department, and organizational performance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
