ESY - School Social Worker

Overview

Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 is seeking a School Social Worker to support our students during Extended School Year (ESY).

The Extended School Year (ESY) program is designed for students with disabilities who require specialized academic and related services to meet their individualized goals with support beyond the normal school year. Eligibility for ESY is determined by each student's IEP team, including parents/guardians, and is provided at no cost to families of eligible students. ESY offers small class sizes and the support of a full special education team.

Students in the program may receive social work, speech language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, the support of educational assistants, and other services, in accordance with their IEPs. Teams will consider the severity of the student's needs, evidence of past loss of skills during extended breaks from school, and patterns of recoupment of skills in each area of need when returning from breaks in determining eligibility for ESY.

All Summer Programs are currently scheduled to run Monday through Thursday beginning on Monday, June 1, 2026 and continuing through June 25, 2026.

Staffing hours: 7:25 a.m.

- 1:05 p.m.

Hourly rate: $47.95

Additionally, there are two paid days occurring the week of May 25, 2026 to prep for the program, which will run from 8:00 a.m.

- 12:00 p.m.

We have multiple opportunities within our summer programs for licensed social workers.

IL Professional Educator License (PEL) with proper endorsement required including School Social Work certification and registered in DuPage County
