Description
York Community High School is seeking school social work interns for the 2026-27 school year. This full-year internship gives school social work students the opportunity to gain experience working with students in a wide variety of settings and situations, as well as exposure to school-wide systems of support.
Responsibilities- Coordinating the implementation of tiered interventions for students based on York's MTSS framework.
- Leading small group interventions for academic and social-emotional concerns.
- Completing social-emotional learning assessments.
- Providing individual counseling to students across academic and social-emotional domains.
- Case management for at‑risk students.
- Collaborating with student support teams, IEP support teams, and Professional Learning Community teams to facilitate student success.
- Co-facilitating workshops and classroom lessons on the counseling curriculum.
- Assisting school counselors in the development and maintenance of an effective school counseling program consistent with the school's mission.
- Reviewing school data for evidence that the school social work program is meeting the academic, social/emotional, and postsecondary needs of all students.
- Interpreting student data and initiating related student programs.
- Supporting teacher/parent communication and community involvement.
- Assisting students in conflict resolution.
- Referring students to intervention/remediation programs, as well as academic and alternative programs, to ensure academic success and personal well-being.
- Referring students to appropriate school personnel and community agencies.
- Attending meetings (i.e., problem-solving, IEP, and 504 meetings).
- Participating in parent/teacher conferences.
- Serving as a resource for school personnel and parents.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Concurrent Enrollment in a certified school social work graduate program.
The annual salary for this role is $3,000. There are no additional benefits.
