School Counselor

We are hiring for a great client in Elmburst, IL. This is an on-site contract opportunity for a School Counselor who will support students’ academic, social-emotional, and college/career development while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment in a school-based setting.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counseling services to support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs

Assist students with goal setting, conflict resolution, decision-making, and personal development

Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and support staff to promote student success

Develop and implement school counseling programs aligned with district goals and student needs

Support students through crisis intervention and provide referrals to community resources when appropriate

Monitor student progress and identify interventions to improve attendance, behavior, and academic performance

Participate in student support meetings, 504 meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions as appropriate

Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines

Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school culture for all students

Qualifications

Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling, or a related field required

Previous experience working in a K–12 school setting preferred

Knowledge of student development, counseling techniques, and MTSS frameworks

Experience collaborating with educators, families, and community partners

Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Ability to build positive relationships with students from diverse backgrounds

Committed to supporting students' academic achievement, social-emotional well-being, and college and career readiness through comprehensive school counseling services.
