PurposeTo help all students reach their full capacity as learners by fostering student curiosity, independence, self-reflection, and wellness. To provide rigorous, relevant and engaging instruction and assessment. To meet the needs of all student learners in a compassionate and understanding way through positive encouragement and development of trust in a safe and appropriate learning environment. To collaborate respectfully with colleagues to create a positive professional culture that is focused on student growth.
EssentialFunctions
- Plan and prepare appropriate learning activities focused on rigor and relevance as well as providing appropriate assessments and feedback consistent with District goals.
- Create a safe, respectful and engaging learning environment for all learners where risk-taking is encouraged, and employ a variety of instructional strategies to ensure that all learners succeed.
- Relate appropriately to learners, demonstrating compassion, trust, and care for their well‑being as learners and as individuals.
- Maintain accurate records for learners and ensure that confidentiality is maintained for each learner.
- Integrate technology appropriately in the educational process.
- Strive to stay current with new thinking and new ideas in the realm of education.
- Work collaboratively with all staff, members of the student services team, administrators and parents. Communicate with these stakeholders in a timely way to support student growth.
- Participate in professional growth opportunities such as workshops, institutes, seminars, conferences, and internal or external continuing education.
- Demonstrate a willingness to assume co‑curricular duties related to the teaching profession.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
