Role SummaryThe Senior Air Quality Consultant will lead air permitting and compliance projects while serving as a trusted advisor to clients. This role combines technical execution, client interaction, and business development, ideal for someone who enjoys working across complex regulatory environments while building strong client relationships.
Responsibilities- Lead air quality permitting and compliance projects from initiation through completion
- Serve as a primary client contact, building and maintaining long-term relationships
- Interpret and apply federal, state, and local air quality regulations
- Perform and oversee emissions calculations, regulatory analyses, and technical reporting
- Develop permitting strategies including Title V and minor source permitting
- Provide guidance on compliance approaches, risk management, and regulatory strategy
- Mentor junior staff and review technical deliverables
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and support client interactions and submittals
- Identify opportunities to expand services with existing clients
- Support business development efforts including proposals, networking, and client outreach
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in air quality consulting or environmental compliance
- Strong knowledge of air regulations including Title V, NSR, and emissions reporting
- Proven ability to manage projects and deliver high-quality technical work
- Experience in a client-facing role within consulting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with air dispersion modeling (AERMOD or similar)
- Existing client relationships or demonstrated success in business development
- Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, or energy sector clients
- Background mentoring or leading junior staff
