The Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra is seeking candidates for the role of Associate Concertmaster. Auditions will take place on the evening of September 4 at the Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church. Interested musicians should prepare specific solos and excerpts as part of the audition process.
Candidates are required to perform an excerpt from a standard concerto, as well as specific movements from Vivaldi's Concerto for 2 Violins in A minor, Handel's Concerto Grosso in C major, and Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherezade. Additionally, excerpts from works by Brahms, Mendelssohn, Prokofiev, and Schumann are also required.
Rehearsals are compensated at $96 each, with concert pay set at $120 and $42 for pre-concert soundchecks.
