Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting all aspects of the Human Resources function, including employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, performance management, leave administration, recruitment, and payroll processing. This position serves as a key resource for employees and management, ensuring HR and payroll practices are administered accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and applicable laws.

Human Resources Responsibilities
  • Administer day-to-day HR operations and provide guidance to employees and managers regarding policies, procedures, and employment-related matters.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and ensure completion of all onboarding documentation.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate performance review processes and support management with employee development initiatives.
  • Administer leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and other protected leaves.
  • Manage benefit enrollment processes, life event changes, and annual open enrollment activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and retention efforts.
  • Prepare HR reports, metrics, and analytics as requested.
Payroll Responsibilities
  • Process biweekly payroll accurately and timely for all employees.
  • Review and verify employee time records, attendance, overtime, and pay adjustments.
  • Ensure proper processing of new hires, terminations, promotions, compensation changes, bonuses, and deductions within payroll systems.
  • Administer payroll-related deductions, including benefits, garnishments, taxes, and voluntary deductions.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with wage and hour laws.
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and respond to employee payroll inquiries.
  • Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits, year-end processing, and tax reporting activities, including W-2 preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience, including payroll processing responsibilities.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (Paycom experience highly preferred).
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, and payroll regulations.
  • Experience administering employee benefits and leave programs.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, and external partners.
