A new commercial printing company in the Chicago area is seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join its team. This position requires a customer-focused professional who understands commercial printing and can manage projects from initial order entry through production, delivery, and invoicing.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers
• Manage commercial printing projects from order entry through final delivery
• Review customer purchase orders, artwork, specifications, quantities, and delivery requirements
• Create accurate and complete job tickets for production
• Coordinate schedules and job requirements with estimating, prepress, pressroom, bindery, shipping, and sales
• Provide customers with order confirmations, proofs, production updates, and delivery information
• Monitor jobs throughout production to ensure quality and deadlines are met
• Identify potential scheduling, material, artwork, or production issues and communicate solutions
• Process job changes, revised specifications, additional charges, and customer approvals
• Maintain accurate customer, order, pricing, and production information
• Assist with preparing quotes, purchase orders, invoices, and shipping documentation
• Handle customer questions, concerns, and service issues professionally
• Build strong working relationships with customers, sales representatives, vendors, and production employees
• Support other customer service and administrative responsibilities as needed

Qualified candidates should understand commercial printing terminology and production processes, including:

• Sheetfed offset and digital printing
• Prepress, artwork, file preparation, and proofing
• Paper stocks, substrates, inks, coatings, and specialty finishes
• Cutting, folding, stitching, perfect binding, die cutting, and other bindery processes
• Mailing, fulfillment, packaging, and shipping
• Job estimating, order entry, job tickets, scheduling, and production workflow
• Print management information systems such as EFI Pace, Monarch, Print Smith, PrintPoint, or similar software

• Minimum of three years of customer service or account management experience within commercial printing preferred
• Strong understanding of commercial printing and finishing processes
• Ability to read and interpret estimates, purchase orders, job specifications, proofs, and production schedules
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to anticipate problems and coordinate practical solutions
• Comfortable working directly with customers, sales representatives, and production teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and print management or order-entry software
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
