Duties & Responsibilities

Interventional Radiology Nurses (RN) provide critical nursing care to the cardiac patient while assisting the Interventional Radiologist, Vascular Surgeon, and Endovascular Neurosurgeon in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures.

  • Prepare patients for procedures.
  • Provide education to the patient and family members.
  • Insert and remove intravenous lines.
  • Administer medication including moderate sedation.
  • Monitor patient patterns and vital signs during procedures.
  • Oversee the safety and comfort of patient before, during, and after procedures.
  • Provide post-procedure monitoring.
