Hourly Pay Range

$36.00 - $55.80 – The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

    Registered Nurse – Pulmonary Medicine Unit – higher acuity patient population
  • Location:

    Elmhurst, IL
  • Part‑Time: 24 hr a week
  • Hours:

    7 pm–7 am with every 3rd weekend and holiday track
What You Will Do
  • Develop a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes; evaluate patient progress, and revise diagnosis and interventions as needed.
  • Provide patient assessment and collect health data involving patient, family, and other health care providers.
  • Communicate plan of care to patient and family, respecting their wishes and setting mutual goals; share data with physician and interdisciplinary team; document patient health data, interventions, and communications.
  • Individualize patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment, adjusting for cultural background, learning style, and barriers; provide disease‑management, emergency care, and drug information; identify community resources.
  • Collaborate with peers, students, and other health care providers; share knowledge, give feedback, and support a collaborative educational environment; assign or delegate tasks as needed.
  • Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support.
  • Assist technical staff with injection of contrast, venipuncture, and administration of drugs, O₂ therapy, and IV management.
  • Participate in performance‑improvement activities and nursing research; stay current with trends in wound/ostomy/skin care; support staff in applying evidence‑based care.
  • If skilled, conduct daily rounds of wound/ostomy/skin‑care patients; monitor effectiveness of treatment plans and other aspects of care.
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist in transporting acutely ill patients as needed.
What You Will Need

Required Education, License and/or Certification

  • Associate Degree or higher in Nursing
  • If Associate Degree is highest, must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date (effective September 1, 2021)
  • RN Diploma Nurse if position start date is prior to September 1, 2021
  • Active Illinois State Nursing License
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association within 6 months of start date
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – National CPR Foundation (NCPRF)
  • Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association

Preferred Education, Skills and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's in Nursing
  • 1 year of inpatient nursing experience is highly preferred
